The Road Trip North - Day 17. Parksville, BC CANADA

Today Michael slept in to 9am, this is the longest he has slept since I have known him, and I am in shock. In fact, I think if I hadn’t gotten up and started moving about he would have slept a lot longer.

Bob’s wife Peggy makes us waffles for breakfast, and we have a lazy morning chatting in the kitchen before heading out to meet one of Michael’s childhood friends for coffee. Michael and Brad haven’t seen each other for fifteen years, but there are soon more school stories and catching up on life since they last met. Then a quick stop at Tim Horton’s for some donuts; I am not sure if Michael was just craving sugar or if he wanted to show me the local delicacy.
Back to Bob and Peggy’s for more conversation, and then they take us out to show us the local area. We spot dolphins swimming in the bay and then visit a tourist shop called Goats on the Roof, although the resident goats were actually   in a paddock out the back and not on the roof. A little bit of unexpected Christmas shopping then back to the house for a home cooked meal.
